leather care
Use a soft microfibre rag dampened with warm water or Fiebings leather cleaner to wipe leather clean. Condition bags and seats with non wax leather conditioner. Some good products are Fiebings 4 Way Care, or Lexol Deep Conditioner. Conditioners are not for use on suede. Follow instructions on product labels. If your bag gets soaking wet in the rain or otherwise; do not dry near a source of heat or in direct hot sunlight. It may alter or shrink the leather. Let it air dry naturally, condition leather if needed after it's dry. For vegetable tanned leathers, you can use the same conditioner stated above or you can also use a waxy balm like Smiths Leather Balm.
For added weather proofing for bags & motorcycle seats you can use Fiebings Snow Proof Paste. For use on smooth leathers only, not suede, follow instructions on product label.
Generally we clean/condition our leathers only about twice a year. Leather is a naturally hard-wearing material that gains more character and patina through use and as it ages. Please do not hesitate to send an email with any leather care questions.
Expect varying grain, textures or minimal markings on your leather items. Leather is a natural material, an animal skin; and any markings or textures present are unique to that hide and that animals life. They only add character, making your handcrafted item even more unique.
